Peckham Space’s recent exhibit features the work of Barby Asante and her South London Black Music Archive.

The video explores Barby’s motivations for the work and how the community was involved before and after the exhibit opened.

Video was filmed on a Canon 7D with Glidetrack Hybrid Shooter for the slider shots. Edited in FCP7 and graded in FCP X.

My Media Action TV Spots

These are two Spots due to run on World News in commercial air time this March. The Promos are for the recently renamed charity ‘BBC Media Action’.

Both were filmed in a very short space of time, with around 30 mins to get all the b-roll material each time.

Nepali Life – A Tiny Slice

In November I had the pleasure to be asked by BBC Media Action to travel to Nepal and Bangladesh to film material for a series of spots which will run on BBC World News in commercial air time.

BBC Media Action is a charity focused around using media as a tool to spread information and hold governments to account.

This little video is a compilation of some of the beautiful scenery and interesting locations we managed to get to in our brief time there.

‘Power of Asia’ Print Ad

My first photo used in major ad campaign! This Ad is for the BBC’s international ‘Power of Asia’ Season. The idea was to show how the rise of Asia in the world economy could change perceptions of how we view the relative strengths of different global regions.

The ad featured in the Wall Street Journal, UK Financial Times, Singapore Business Times among others and various web banners.

Credit to colleagues Nat and Rob for Indesign and Photoshop expertise respectively.

The shoot was pretty simple. A little cube lite soft box and a Canon 7D with an interfit strobes flash diffuser mounted on a speedlite flash.

The label was on the shirt was custom made.

Couple of behind the scenes shots below. Getting an instant preview of the images on the connected macbook was extremely helpful in spotting issues, checking focus etc.

‘Power of Asia’ Music Branding

For the BBC’s new Power of Asia season on BBC World News and World Service I composed this branding music to work with the promos. The project started off with creating the sonic stings but then expanded to become a complete track.

Quick turnaround, done in a couple of days. All mixed and mastered within Pro Tools.
